Helpful Baking Tips
Although these cookies are simple to prepare, a few baking tips can help ensure perfect results every time.
- Make sure the butter is properly softened before mixing. This creates a light and creamy texture that helps the cookies bake evenly.
- Avoid overworking the dough once the ingredients are combined, as this can make the cookies tougher.
- Lightly flour your work surface to prevent sticking while rolling out the dough.
- For even baking, try to keep all cookies a similar thickness.
- Dip the cookies in caster sugar while they are still warm so the sugar adheres properly.

Easy Variations and Substitutions
These cookies are delicious as written, but you can customize them to suit your preferences.

Freezing Baked Cookies
Once completely cooled, place the cookies in a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to three months.
Freezing Cookie Dough
The dough can also be frozen before baking. Wrap it tightly and store it in the freezer for up to two months. Thaw in the refrigerator before rolling and cutting.
Keeping Cookies Fresh
